Life Seed Campaign

Encourage people to grow millets and grains at home
The Life Seed Campaign is one of the core activities of ILFA.

It's motto is as follows:
Let's save seeds and take back our healthy body and food culture.

Life Seeds have two meanings:
seeds for the plants that nourish our body, and the germination of a healthier food culture for the modern world.

ILFA has been promoting the Life Seed Campaign with grains and millets at the core of the educational movement.
The three goals of the Life Seed Campaign are:
-To save crop seeds and crop diversity for the next generation.
-To rebuild healthy food culture according to local climate and bodies.
-To create a sustainable international food culture of connected ecosystems and healthy humans.

As part of the activities of the Life Seed Campaign, ILFA has been encouraging people to grow millets and grains at home by distributing seeds and an accompanying information booklet. Considering the tight housing situation in Japan, the booklet explains in detail how to grow millets and grains in balcony planters and small backyards. By 2002, about 1,000 people had pledged to participate.
